Position Summary


The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, with a strong focus on team leadership, guest experience, and operational execution. This role will play a key part in building systems, developing staff, and ensuring consistency across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities


Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations and support the GM in executing overall business strategy
  • Lead shifts with a focus on service standards, flow, and team communication
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment across FOH and BOH
  • Assist with opening responsibilities, including team onboarding and operational setup


Financial Performance

  • Support cost control initiatives across labor, food, beverage, and supplies
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and vendor coordination
  • Ensure accurate completion of administrative functions including reporting and payroll


Guest Experience

  • Lead service to ensure a consistently high-quality guest experience
  • Address guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency
  • Build a culture of hospitality and accountability across the team


Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain adherence to company policies and local/state regulations
  • Uphold food quality and consistency in partnership with the culinary team

Team Leadership & Development

  • Assist in hiring, training, and onboarding hourly team members
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Support scheduling and staffing to meet business needs
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support marketing initiatives and local store-level efforts
  • Assist with bar operations, ensuring compliance and profitability
  • Contribute to menu planning and operational improvements alongside leadership


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Opening experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including service, financials, and team management
  • Experience with inventory systems, POS platforms, and basic reporting tools
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
